Hi jadejasminek,
Don't worry about it, when it comes to computers, there is a pretty steep learning curve.
here is a link to a hijackthis Tutorial:
http://www.tomcoyote.org/hjt/
First, do you have a current copy of hijackthis? The current version is 1.98.2 to determine what version you have run hijackthis and look to the right of the program name in the top bar.
You can get the current hijackthis from here:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/files/Merijn/HijackThis.zip
When you install it, it must be in it's own folder.
To make a new folder, Open Windows Explorer
A shortcut is to hold down the 'windows key' on your keyboard, and tap 'E'
locate your root drive (usually C:) on the left pane.
left click it once to make it active in the right pane.
right click in the right pane, highlight
new in the menu that pops up, then select
New Folder from the pop out menu.
type
HJT, and press enter.
This will make a new folder Named
HJT
The Reason behind requiring it to be in it's own folder is that if it runs from
the Zip, it will not be able to create backups. And also, so that if there is a
problem after the fix, the backups are easy to find.
Once this is done, run hijackthis, click
Scan.
when it has finished, the button you clicked that said
Scan will now say
Save Log
click
Save Log
it will open a notepad file with the log in it.
Please post the entire contents of that file in this post as your reply.
To copy the text in the Notepad, click
Edit choose
Select All
click
Edit again, and choose
Copy
In this topic click
Add Reply
Place the cursor in the text area window, right click, and choose
paste
once your log is posted it may take some time to get a response, as we are fairly swamped, but we will get back to you.
