hello HT1138, latest logs looks good, what bothers me is that it looked good once before,( i could have miised something first time around) and the trusted site icon. i will work on the icon part let me know if everything remains ok……….
So far everything seems o.k. except for the Trusted sites icon. I don't have any of the pop-ups, search page redirects, or homepage redirects that I had with all of the spyware, and Spybot S&D and AdAware didn't find anything when I ran them after my last HijackThis log.
hello HT1138, good to hear things are going ok, the icon does appear to be a leftover form the malware. rand1038 pointed me to another post for the possible fix, if you are comfortable in the registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\InternetSetting s\ZoneMap\ProtocolDefaults\ you've probably got 'http = 2' If so, change it to 3 and repeat for the same key in hkey_current_user . shelf life
