I ran VX2 Cleaner and it came back with no infections.

The IE opening by itself has stopped. THANK YOU!!!!!!!! :weee:

I'm not sure if there is still something else that needs to be cleaned up, so here is another log.

Blessings,
Susan :)

Just a few more

little eagle – thanks again for all your help! You asked how my computer was acting – It's fairly normal for my computer (it gets heavy use). It seems a bit slow. And my icons on the desktop and in windows explorer are messed up (they are either the wrong picture or they are black, like a silouette (sp). Here is the latest HJT log: ogfile of HijackThis v1.98.2 Scan saved at 6:23:18 PM, on 9/17/2004 Platform: Windows ME (Win9x 4.90.3000) MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP1 (6.00.2800.1106) Running processes: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\KERNEL32.DLL C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\MSGSRV32.EXE C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\mmtask.tsk C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\MPREXE.EXE C:\PROGRAM FILES\MCAFEE.COM\VSO\MCVSRTE.EXE C:\WINDOWS\EXPLORER.EXE C:\PROGRAM FILES\MCAFEE.COM\VSO\MCVSSHLD.EXE C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\MSTASK.EXE C:\PROGRAM FILES\MCAFEE.COM\VSO\MCVSESCN.EXE C:\01SAVE\HIJACKTHIS.EXE C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\STIMON.EXE O3 - Toolbar: McAfee VirusScan - {BA52B914-B692-46c4-B683-905236F6F655} - C:\PROGRAM FILES\MCAFEE.COM\VSO\MCVSSHL.DLL O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [MCUpdateExe] C:\PROGRA~1\MCAFEE.COM\AGENT\McUpdate.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [VSOCheckTask] "C:\PROGRA~1\MCAFEE.COM\VSO\MCMNHDLR.EXE" /checktask O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [VirusScan Online] "C:\PROGRA~1\MCAFEE.COM\VSO\mcvsshld.exe" O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [MCAgentExe] C:\PROGRA~1\MCAFEE.COM\AGENT\McAgent.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [McRegWiz] C:\PROGRA~1\MCAFEE.COM\AGENT\MCREGWIZ.EXE /autorun O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [McVsRte] C:\PROGRA~1\MCAFEE.COM\VSO\mcvsrte.exe /embedding O9 - Extra button: AIM - {AC9E2541-2814-11d5-BC6D-00B0D0A1DE45} - C:\MY DOCUMENTS\CA_GAMEMASTER\AIM.EXE Thanks again! Don't remember anything about a dll file missing error. I am having another problem though – it's happened before, seemed to stop, but it started again this morning. When I go to print, my system shuts down. This started when my son installed his webcam. Usually, when we unplug the webcam and reboot, we can print fine, but sometimes we can only print 2 or 3 times and then it shuts off. This morning, though, it's being very erratic – I've been able to print only 1 page with 3 or 4 shut offs. I don't know if that's a software problem or a hardware problem, but it's very frustrating. I truly appreciate all of your help! Blessings, Susan :)
little eagle, When I read your message, my first thought was "duh! Susan, if you'd only use your brain!" And then I reinstalled the software. It printed 1 page each from 3 different programs (Quicken, notepad, and Word97). Success! But then I did some more work in Word and it turned off again when I tried to print. Thanks! Susan :)
