hello Soultemptress,

nice name, lets try this;

make sure all files are set to show:
Open Windows Explorer & Go to Tools > Folder Options. Click on the View tab and make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is checked. Also uncheck "Hide protected operating system files" and untick "hide extensions for known file types" . Now click "Apply to all folders"
Click "Apply" then "OK"

Reboot your PC into SAFE MODE by tapping F5 key at start up, chose safe mode

once in safe mode:
Have Hijack This fix all of the following by placing a check in the appropriate boxes and hitting fix checked. Make sure all browsers and all Windows Explorer windows are closed before fixing.

afterwards post a new HJT log
I did everything you told me to….I have tried to do Safe Window operations.
I have 4 people on one computer and well, I am very security conscious, my hubby and kids try. It was a combination of husband and kid that had problems and clicked incorrectly at the time.

Thanks so much for taking the time to help me Shelflife. The name is in partnership with SoulSlayer my spouse. We read a lot of SciFi/Fantasy. This was inspired by Elric Melnibone by Michael Moorcock.
