About.blank Blanksearch Hijack

blanksearch comes up when I open IE. I have used Adaware6 and Spybot Search and Destroy but they can't stop it. Even though Spybot notifies me of a change it doesn't prevent it.
I have tried to update XP but my system locked up and I had to revert to a previous setup.

Make sure that you have no browser windows open as this could prevent the fix from working properly. Open HijackThis, scan and when complete, remove the following entries by checking the box to the left and clicking 'fixed checked':

Click here to download clear.zip. Extract clear.reg from the zip file and save it to the desktop. When done double-click the clear.reg, when asked to merge say yes.

Reboot when done, then find this file and delete it:

c:\windows\system32\system32.dll <– nothing else from the System32 folder

It is running well. No more blanksearch!!!! Are there specific settings that I should have in IE to prevent hijacking in the future? I am still using Adaware and Spybot S&D. They both still show some problems each time. Adaware is finding vulnerablities that I think are really from Spybot and aren't vulnerabilities. Spybot keeps finding DSO exploits each time I run it. Iw as going to check out the forums for these programs also. Thanks for your help, I had given up until I stumbled across HJT. I can finally use my computer without getting frustrated about a hijacked browser.
