Good :D Nearly there, open the FINDnFIX folder again and open the Files2 folder. Double-click on the ZIPZAP.bat. It will quickly clean the rest and will make a copy of the bad file(s) in the same folder (junkxxx.zip) and open your email client with instructions. Simply drag and drop the junkxxx.zip file from the folder into the mail message and submit to the specified addresses.

Please be sure to include a link to this thread in the body of your email. Reboot when done, then delete the entire FINDnFIX folder. Could you click here to download CWShredder by Merijn Bellekom and run it, hit 'fix' as opposed to 'scan only'. If you already have CWShredder, click 'Check for update' and make sure you are running version 1.59.1 Reboot when done. Rescan with HJT and post a new log in your next reply.
Well, I've ZIPZAPped and e-mailed the junkxxx.zip file, run the latest version of CWShredder, and scanned after rebooting with HJT. The latest log is attached.

In the process of opening IE, I've noticed that the "about:blank" home page has been replaced with a Microsoft one, so that looks promising if I can change back to my original without upsetting the applecart. However, I'll wait to do that until I hear back from you about this latest log.

Thanks again for taking the time to guide me through all this,

Hijacked

Looks OK now. Click here to download the latest version of HijackThis. Doubleclick the file, click Unzip and it will save the application to C:\HijackThis. Run it from there to scan your computer and post a new log here just to make sure.

You can reset your homepage now.
Daemon,

I've attached the log using version 1.98.0.1 of HJT, and I have reset my home page and it seems to be working just fine.

FYI, I tried your link for the latest version of HJT but couldn't connect, so I visited Dave Higham's Web site directly. Both his "Computing" and "Online Security" sections were inoperative. Next I tried to log on to spywareinfo.com, but couldn't get a response there either. I also tried the "update" utility in HJT itself, but it couldn't connect (I assume it was trying to go to spywareinfo. com?). I think [removed] is the latest version, but if it's not, do you have another download site you can recommend?

In any case, you guys have done a fantastic job. If you ever need a testimonial, just let me know.
