No USSD menu on modem

On the Huawei E398 modem, I note there is no USSD menu.  How then can one run USSD commands to check data balance, purchase more data etc.  Does anyone know.  I have logged a query on Huawei Support but did not receive any response.  Perhaps the firmware needs to be updated but how do I go about doing so?

I'm not sure we can help you with this one. You'll probably have to contact your ISP (internet service provider).
