What I would suggest, create a new system restore point, download the latest version of BD appropriate to your licence key and see how the computer behaves.
If the issues return after reinstalling BD you should open a ticket at BD Customer Services here
Please let us know how you get on or if if you decide to not reinstall BD and therefore consider your question answered.
ok phill here's the latest…I did as suggested with no problems at all with BD on the license. first let me point out my only way of the internet is to tether my pc to my phone and I use the 4g connection with at&t. also, I am their evil adopted stepnephew in law whom they do not like. been with them for 20 years and they have an x by my name every corner. now they have slowed my data speed a cpl times and they might as well cut it off. now it's behaving the same as when my speed is clocked before the reinstall, I had one crash giving the blue screen with the barcode. I after I reinstalled BD I had 2 crashes showing the same thing and BD reported it was an update malfunction. it took maybe 5 minutes for this link to open. my 4g speed may be at a disadvantage as it runs a lot slower where I just moved to. I have ordered a new zboost cell booster which comes Tuesday. i'm guessing I need to wait and see if it changes anything. I've used the Wilson cradle boost but it just gives a signal strength of about -107 dBm 4 asu. I don't know enough of it to know if this could be the problem or linked to it.
Best I can suggest is to try the new cell booster and if still getting poor performance and crashes open a ticket with BD.
Worth mentioning is that if the poor performance is only related to the Internet connection it could be something like a BD browser plug in or BDs Firewall slowing things down simply by doing the job that it is meant to do and tethering is not the most efficient way of setting up a home computer.
right i understand that and it is a rather large pc and starting to age a little. i have resorted to that method simply because of the rural location i am in. it's on the edge of the ozark nat'l forest and very rural with very little or no internet…cell coverage also. if the zboost is no better i believe the other has a dish.net package i may go with, we'll see. i'm going to disable bd fw and let windows run and see if ir helps
ok I got the zboost yesterday installed and wow! I went from the -107 dBm signal…at best, usually it hovered around the -113 and worse to now inside my rv am at a signal strength of usually about -95dBm or even lower. the good thing is my internet is far better as for speed, pages loading and not timing out. I bought the zboost for att that carries the 4g which covers 2500 squ ft and up to 5 phones. while it's nice to have better internet it's even nicer to keep my phone at my side and have service. i'll keep a check on it all as there are bad storms around and see if the good continues and get back asap. thanks.
thanks phill…i guess this can go to archives? as i have been having no problems that are of suspicious of being wrongful. maybe whatever quirks i was having has passed. i'll keep a close watch on it all, thanks for your help and patience.
