10/10/2016 - "Samsung has "temporarily" ceased production of its troubled flagship smartphone, after several reports emerged last week that supposedly safe replacement models had burst-into-flames — but UK mobile carriers are yet to react by halting sales of the device. A Samsung spokesperson told Ars: "We are temporarily adjusting the Galaxy Note 7 production schedule in order to take further steps to ensure quality and safety matters."
As Ars reported over the weekend, at least seven replacement units are believed to have -exploded- following the Korean company's decision to recall all 2.5 million Note 7s it had initially shipped — even though it said it had fixed the error which caused batteries to overheat. One of these incidents filled a Kentucky bedroom with smoke at 4am, sending the owner to the hospital after he started vomiting 'a lot of black stuff'. While two major US carriers, AT&T and T-Mobile, have already taken the decision to stop selling Galaxy Note 7s for the time being, UK mobile operators seem still to be consulting on whether or not to halt sales..."

Oct 10, 2016 | 6:46pm EDT - "Samsung Electronics said on Tuesday it will ask all global partners to stop sales and exchanges of the Galaxy Note7 smartphones, further deepening the smartphone company's recall crisis. Samsung, in a statement, said it was still investigating recently reported cases of fires in new Note7 devices. "Consumers with either an original Galaxy Note7 or replacement Galaxy Note7 device should power down and stop using the device," the company said..."
