Power of prayer seemed to help! As I had no clue and it ran anyways I got to some point and it appears as if I am close to a solid solution! Awesome.
so did you get it installed and have everything up and running without any problems now?

@Terry1966 Yes, I think that I hope that I did what I did and it worked.
So the short story, I walked away and said a big prayer because nothing was happening or working. I tried again. Ya know do the same thing over and over and expect a different result = insanity…
Well, that works for me. I said my prayer, clicked what I had to through the choice of custom and walked away. I came back and it was saying "hi" lets go through this together and stuff. I tested it. downloaded the things I needed from the cloud, deleted any downloaded software and tested it. Seemed to work great.
Could not put a dvd in the player and it work automatically. I have no idea about that. Perhaps windows wants all to buy some software, who knows. I loaded it and took it back. Since it is family, sort of, I am there often enough and thought of if issues happen.
Your thoughts on the dvd thing? Should I go install something else?

not running a windows pc myself either, i'd think it's not supposed to run anything automatically and it's a security setting.
this link should show you how to set it up to auto play if you really want it to though. :- http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/7119-autoplay-turn-off-windows-10-a.html

Thanks a bunch Terry. You have been a lot of help on this one.
just so you can laugh some more; I was on a dell website and almost dropped money on a new computer to move my children into a new era of computing.
They like their product more than I do so I moved on, but I almost did it.
