I took a quick look at the malware thread.

What is the problem you have now?

What do you need help with?

Has it to do with a Broadcom wireless card?

With what has happened to that system, I recommend you backup his data then do a Clean Install of Windows 10. That way you are guaranteed to get rid of any leftover garbage and get a good, solid install to work from.

Follow this tutorial: Windows 10 - Clean Install

What is the problem you have now? I cannot safe mode or boot like that at all. F8 seems to be dead.

What do you need help with? It is windows so even I don't know anymore but I know there are still issues, like the online software keeps getting frozen for no reason so we can't see any logs ect

Has it to do with a Broadcom wireless card? There was that but I wanst sure about that. I would have to go back and read where I discussed that issue on page 3 I think.

Know where I can back up all his stuff online? What do I back up? Whats most important to back up?

Sounds like this computer was forced into windows 10 so I don't have a copy of it to load it. suggestions? Ill guess that window is a link to something because it comes up blank for me on a mac.

As this was a windows 7 at one time, is it possible to go back to 7 and not go back to 10. If I had to go to 10 it should just be a simple download from windows, right?

I remember when they gave you these discs so you could re install and now we have nothing. Grrrr.

Is this a possibility? Where might I find the old 7 back up discs? I have all the pics, vid, docs, etc backed up to a cloud account so I could potentially wipe this and start all over I guess. Just without discs, how?

Evidently this has been on here for over a month as I found that I could have rolled back had it been within a 30 day period! When I tried this trick this is what I got. Ideas? anyone?

can you post a screenshot of your hard drives partitions, if it has a factory restore partition on it then you may be able to start the factory restore process by tapping one of the F keys as soon as you power on the pc, no idea which at the moment but if that doesn't work then you can probably set the partition as the active partition so the next time you boot up the pc it automatically start the factory restore process.

thinking about it more, i'd probably just try a reset of window 10 as shown in your screenshot

or if you still have problems do a clean install of windows 10. :- http://www.howtogeek.com/224342/how-to-clean-install-windows-10/

@ Terry

Why do you think scratch that and stick with 10? Also, I have no clue where anything is. Have a path to follow? When it comes to windows I am clueless anymore

OMG I even have a disdain for this keyboard! From all of it I can only guess that I will be stuck going to the 10 on this. Oh well. not mine I shouldnt take it personally.

sorry was editing my post which you might have missed ( bad habit of mine.) and i didn't see your reply.

i'd stick with 10 because he's been getting used to it and everyone will have to get used to it at some point anyway if they stick with a windows os.

also it will be easier to get and create a windows 10 install media if the factory restore partition doesn't work for any reason.

Well, Here goes everything. Wish me ducks! Who knows I might come out smelling like a chicken!

Let me ask, I was reading something about the DVD read write might not work… Thoughts?

Nothing!!!!

 Cant boot from a USB.

Now I have to figure out how to change that. ideas anyone.

Could never boot into safemode. I can use F2 but what do I make master my E drive which is the USB? Allow me to make a big mess before i get help.

Such a rebel these days.

not 100% sure what you've done or are doing.

did you try the "reset this pc" option shown in your last screenshot and if so with what results?

i'm assuming you've created a windows 10 bootable usb and are now trying to do a clean install.

use the F12 key and select the usb drive as the boot device when powering on the pc and it should boot it and start the install process.

That Makes two of Us!!! HA

No I did not.   ~What seemed to be getting said was to do a clean install and those were the links I was given.  Granted this is not the malware section and I sort of expected the same kind of response and help but didn't get that so I kind of took things on myself to walk a path with people kind of watching me make it or not and they would help me along the way.  I am sort of a blind old fool with little knowledge of such things so forgive me if I was seeing things wrong.

I followed the link you (Terry1966) gave me and did what they said to do for the USB bootable. So far a lot of what they said seems to be very wrong!!!!

Like for instance, windows remembering my 'key'! Well no they want me to enter it. Do a custom or a normal? Who knows! the blog said custom so I am trying custom, to no avail on pro or home. So no pro, no home, no key, no idea what to do next. Have shotgun will kill windows! willll will willll tick tick tick,,,,

Is there a way to see this on a mac so I can go back and forth between the two suggestions. Reason is one has to say what I did and have an explanation.
