Laptop wont install game.

Hey guys,

I am trying to install a game (sims 3) and my latop gets a quarter of the way through installing it and then says "E:/thumbnails/allthumbnails.packagerror:dataerror (cyclic redundancy check)". It takes a couple of times for it to recognize that there is a disc in it aswell.

HELP!

Sorry to hear of the problem with installing your game.

1 Sometimes this can be caused by a dirty or bad installation disc so give it a clean, and try an alternative disc if you can lay your hands on one.

2 Try using another CD/DVD of any sort. a music CD for example… does it work OK? (if not it could be that your CD/DVD drive is not working properly, so that information will enable us to focus our help in the correct area.

3 Try using an external USB CD/DVD drive to install the application and see how you get on (although they are cheap to buy, for a quick, test it's probably better to borrow one from a chum.
