I have a Kingston 4GB 1333MHZ memory module in one of my computers. If I added another 4GB 1333MHz memory module but a different brand (Adata, Samsung or VS), would the two be compatible?
Compatibility of different brands of memory modules

The answer is …probably….Yes
but for a more definitive answer please go here:
www.crucial.com
and get the crucial scanner to scan the computer in question, the output from this scan will tell you how much memory your motherboard can support and the exact specification of memory module required for complete compatibility
You don't have to buy the memory from Crucial,(once you have the spec you can get it from wherever you like) but if you do buy from Crucial then generally they will guarantee that the module they supply will be compatible.
Also do remember that a 64 bit operating system is required( rather than a 32 bit) to make use of more than 4GB

You can add different types\makes of ram, and as long as they are supported by the board you can use them (generally speaking), BUT, the spec of each stick of ram is the limiter, as no matter how fast your best stick is, they will only run at the speed on the slowest stick, apart from that it's a case of try them and see how you go, the only other point to note is unless they are matched pairs, they won't run in dual channel mode, but otherwise they should work together, but any instability remove the extra stick and check out the voltages required for each stick, hope this helps.

Dam my slow typing lol.
