Edit: Nevermind, I think I figured out the problem. I had my net connection shared into a wifi network using Intel Mywifi, and it had something to do with the discovery thingy. I'll post again if that turns out not to be the problem.

Hi! I have a Dell XPS L502X with Windows 7 64 bit operating system. A problem that I've been having for a little while is that commonly about 5 to 10 minutes after I start the computer and get online a svchost.exe instance pops up and starts taking up 25 to 30 percent of the cpu, and if you leave the computer connected to the net will apparently run forever.

Disconnecting from the net causes the svchost to close, and killing it in task mannager makes the problem go away for the rest of that session (it doesn't restart itself.) Malware Antimalwarebytes turns up no infections, and neither does Avast. I downloaded Process Mannager and looked at the svchost, and it says:

Command Line:
C:\Windows\system32\svchost.exe -k LocalServiceAndNoImpersonation

Path:
C:\Windows\System32\svchost.exe

Services:
Function Descovery Resource Publication [FDResPub]
SSDP Discovery [SSDPSRV]
UPnP Device Host [upnphost]
Windows Connect Now - Config Registrar [wcncsvc]

Before I took that it also said something about Windows Font Cach being attached to it, but I killed that and it didn't solve the problem.
