I'm attempting to replace a .nls file on a Vista hdd. The system won't boot to the recovery disk. So I've connected the hdd to another system via usb. Knowing that both systems have the c_1252.nls file, is there a right way to copy the working file to the damaged drive?
No, you can just copy it over.

But, if you're receiving this message: The file C:\windows\system32\c_1252.nls is missing or corrupt

Then there is probably more wrong than you think…
