I just did what the title says, then installed all the updates for windows 7 and installed the graphics card software. After a couple days of using it I get a blue screen saying windows has detected a problem and needs to shut down to prevent injury or something like that. WTF I thought getting a new hard drive and starting fresh would wipe my many problems with my comp. Feel free to answer my other post about another problem I have to.. Do you have any dumps in C:\Windows\minidump? If so, zip up the last few and upload here using the Browse and Upload button below the text input area.

Edit: Have you tested/replace your ram?

Along with Ztruker's response, it might be easier to just download and run: WhoCrashed

Download, install, and then run the program. Click the "Analyze" button. You can copy and paste the contents of the results here and it would be helpful. Sometimes blue screens are just random and general and don't really give us much to go on - it becomes the process of elimination and trial and error. Other times, the blue screens are very specific and identify a specific driver over and over and this almost always results in finding a clearly defined solution.

Nonetheless it's suggested you look for updates for the products that these drivers belong to and regularly visit Windows update or enable automatic updates for Windows. In case a piece of malfunctioning hardware is causing trouble, a search with Google on the bug check errors together with the model name and brand of your computer may help you investigate this further.

Unfortunately, these are the completely useless, generic blue screens I was talking about. They don't give us anything to go on. However, I think there is a pretty straight forward process we can use here to resolve this issue.

First, I want to say that I closed your other thread because I think the problems are related.
Second, I noticed that it appears you are running Windows 7 x86 - yet, you have a newer system with 4GB of RAM and a 64-bit processor. You should be running Windows 7 x64 on this machine as it will perform much better for you and allow you to utilize the full capacity of system memory that you have.

However, ultimately, I think you are having a driver problem. If you choose, first you should reload fresh with a Windows 7 x64 - you can use the same windows product key to load x86 or x64, all you need is the disc to do it. Then address the driver issues.

However, here's what I think about your driver problems...

It appears Everest is unable to identify your chipset, BIOS nor audio - I suspect you may not have all your drivers loaded properly.

You need to download and update every driver on your system to the newest version.

Download and install every driver for your motherboard from here: http://www.biostar-u...php?S_ID=479#dl

Abstain from attempting any type of BIOS update for the time being.

Next, install the newest chipset and RAID drivers from AMD here: http://support.amd.c..._windows.aspx#2 - You do not need the RAIDExpert utility.

Next, download the newest driver for your video card from here: http://www.nvidia.co...aspx?lang=en-us - just choose the right graphics card and operating system from the list. You have a GeForce; 700-series; GTX 770 with what looks like Windows 7 32-bit. If this install gives you trouble because first it wants to "uninstall an existing driver and reboot" every time you run it, then let me know.

Double check in device manager that nothing has a yellow exclamation point or red X. Test your games.

Where can I find windows 7 x64 disc? Will it be cheap since I don't need another product key?

For the motherboard the onboard LAN link won't work? Is that a problem of their site or my comp?

Here is a link to information that is freely available to you: http://heidoc.net/jo...-download-links

You would need the English version of Windows 7 Home Premium x64 SP1

Please be aware that I am not a Microsoft licensing expert and you may want to check with Microsoft to see if you are licensed to run either version (x86 or x64) using the product key you have already purchased rather than take the word of anybody on the internet.

I can't download it either. Here is the newest driver direct from realtek: http://www.realtek.c...p;GetDown=false

Download the Win7 / Server 2008 R2 auto installation program from one of the U.S. links.

You can't uninstall an operating system. You would make the Windows 7 x64 installation disc and put it in your computer and install windows just like you did after you changed your hard drive. You'll be starting over fresh again. If you are intent on doing this, then make sure that you adjust the downloads I provided you accordingly so that you are downloading the 64-bit version of each item. I'm not sure of your experience level based on your last question. :) You better make sure you have a second computer to communicate with the world on if you screw this one up.
