I have an windows server 2008 and only one lan connection for internet and local.quiries from the router of the building authority. This server and all my four computers are connected to the switch. switch is connected to the router. router has dhcp enabled but i have configured all computer a static ip and default gateway router and dns to my server… i have shared some files to these computer and has a myhouse.local domain.. all computer are connected to this domain. i have been assigning permission to file and folders while sharing and want to limit the user on internet access. how is it possible? is it sufficient to run a single wire to server from the server to switch or has to connect to server from the house authority to server directly and from another card to switch? main problem is it is not easy to run a wire directly from building authority to my server and from my server to switch… so what could be the solution on this and how could i limit the internet in this scenerio.
