Gateway laptop has been not starting properly for quite some time now….thought it was related to the battery needing to be replaced as per Windows 7 warning. Battery still charging and is full so it can't be related entirely to that. Even on D/C power problem still occurs. Even with closing laptop there's no guarantee it will start as it should. D/C jack/port may be loose as it makes noise if laptop moves with cord in but not functions normally most of the time. A few days ago the pic below showed up and with a quick google search it appears it may be a fairly common problem. Can anyone give me fairly simple steps in which to solve this problem?
