what can be used to download films to windows ce

I have bought a mini netbook for my daughter it runs on windows ce. what can i use to download songs and movies etc as programs like bit torrent are not compatable with windows ce and i cant seem to find any that are, thanks in advance jo

Hi Its best to keep away from torrents for downloading music….. many torrents are used to avoid copyright or try to avoid paying legitimate licence fees. There are legal uses for peer to peer file sharing ( P2P) but files can easily be "spiked" with malicious code in the same way that bad people will spike a drink in a pub or bar or disco…… Many of the infections (viruses, worms, trojans etc) that we see daily here on WTT and on the machines that are brought into the workshops of the technicians here are spread through the use of P2P file sharing. There are many download sites that don't involve P2P and where the provenance of the files is good and its best to use those. Regards paws

I buy from amazon.com, typically $.99 per song. My daughter and Grandson use iTunes though I don't know if that is compatible with WinCE either.

There a lots of free, online sites you can stream music from. One I like is Pandora. There area many others as Google shows: online radio

Free download sites are less common and in most cases illegal. As paws said, they are also virus magnets. You download a song and the next thing you know you have a virus, spyware, spamware or who knows what. It's just not worth the risk.
