Hi, sorry to hear of your Internet problems
It would be helpful to have the make and model number of your computer…. (the HPw1907 is your VDU…) and also the operating system you are using…Win 7, Vista etc.
could you also tell us the make and model number of your modem and router?
Do you normally connect to the Internet via wireless….? ( this is a little unusual, although not unknown)…most folks connect via their LAN
To assist us please open a command prompt and ,if using Vista or 7 run it with elevated privileges.. (Right click and select run as admin)
at the command prompt type the following command
ipconfig /all
note the space it needs to be there.
then press Enter
Please copy and paste the output into your reply and we will advise the next steps
Regards

Hi Thanks for the info

My data sheets indicate your machine does not normally ship with a wireless network adapter card, but has a Wired LAN as standard.
Your output from ipconfig idicates that there is a USB wireless network adapter plugged in….. see if you can find it and unplug it please.
The output also indicates your computer is not getting an Ip address from your router.
If you open Network and Sharing Centre via Control Panel, make sure that wireless adapter ( if shown is set to "disable" however as soon as you unplug it from the USB port……. then normally the entry disappears.
Next make sure that your LAN is set to enabled (try disabling it and then enable it….then close down your computer, then close down your router and then your modem…… leave both modem and router disconnected from everything for 5 minutes( by the clock) then reconnect the modem then the router and then wait 3 minutes before starting your computer
Open Internet Explorer or your favourite browser and see if you can connect

Still no luck! :'( I disabled and re-enabled my LAN settings and just did everything you said to do, and I just turned on my computer and no luck!
Are there any other solutions?! I'm desperate now.
Yes ….Are there any other solutions?!
1 please look in Device manager and tell me if your network adapter card is shown and if it is shown as working Ok…please copy and let us have a sight of its full description
2 You didn't say if you found the wireless network adapter plugged into a USB port….did you?
3 When you look at your network (LAN) in Network and Sharing is it shown as connected?……what happens if you double click on it to connect?
4 If you plug the Ethernet cable cable directly into your modem….does this get you a connection?
5 If you still have no joy then do this;
Copy and paste these lines in Note pad.
@Echo on
pushd\windows\system32\drivers\etc
attrib -h -s -r hosts
echo 127.0.0.1 localhost>HOSTS
attrib +r +h +s hosts
popd
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /flushdns
netsh winsock reset all
netsh int ip reset all
shutdown -r -t 1
del %0
Save as flush.bat to your desktop.
Double click on the flush.bat file to run it.
Your computer will reboot itself.
Let us know what error codes or messages you get
