Hi, don't use the computer until you have the CPU fan running correctly…..(you can "fry" the CPU in a very short time if the CPU fan and heatsink are not doing their job properly) you can take the old CPU fan into your local computer repair shop or try and match it online by any reference numbers on it. Make and model number of machine/motherboard and CPU+ socket arrangement will be needed. Download the data sheet for your machine/motherboard and see if this gives you the information you need. Don't break the seal twixt the bottom of the heatsink and the top of the CPU unless you know how to clean it and apply the correct thermal compound. When you open the machine you must take all personal safety precautions…. NOTE its not enough just to switch it off)……..no poking around inside unless it's unplugged from the mains, all wires, cables removed etc and stay away from any capacitors…they can give you a serious shock even long after the machine has been switched off… Don't forget to take all ESD (anti static precautions) its easy to wreck your machine if you don't! got. it that will be good for future refances I should really look at the physical contions close before i post here! :wall: noticed a wire was spilt to the fan. sat down and rewired it running better then ever :D
