Hi,
Old name: nonag
new name: novice22
I had posted this topic days ago with same issue and was working with forum member Satch. I was unable to reply to your last post requesting a scan within the time limitations. I do apologize. When I attempted to log in to my account and was unable to (user name, display name, password & email weren't recognized -probably again my fault-so…I created a new account and am posting results from OTL scan. Let me rephrase my question so
Satch and anyone else who is willing to help can better help me.
After multiple attempts to rid my two 500 GB HD ( local repair shop worked on it two times and then wiped drives) I was still infected. So I bought a new hard drive and believe I am still infected because:
Multiple ports have been opened allowing access both in and out of my firewall that I didn't grant permissions for.
To try and keep this post from getting too much longer, please refer back to my recent post with same topic title and log name as nonag.
After researching this topic on the internet, I found a fair concensus that the bios could be infected in rare cases and most recommended going to mobo wiebsite and download program to re-flash the BIOS cihp on the
motherboard. I found updates I could downlload but not a download to reflash the BIOS to original default settings. (It's an ASUS P5BW-LA the BIOS is a Phoenix award.) Is this lead incorrect or am I searching in the wrong
places? I also read that I should reseat the ram and all cards. I would greatly appreciate advice/info re: above and how to proceed.
I forgot to include results of OTL scan when I just uploaded my post. Here it is:

Hi, New info before I post scans. There was a problem with the antivirus, Kapersky, which has been on p/c with prior scans and posts. I downloaded and installed AVG and 6 infections were detected-one could not be removed The name was Adware. Generic and it''s location was: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Currentversion\Run\\avp. After running the first scan, I was notified by Windows there were problems on disk J and recommended I scan. (Disk J was news to me). After consenting, the following msg was received: "The disk check could not be performed because Windows cannot access the disk." Hi,

Please do the following

Refer to the ComboFix User's Guide

  • Download ComboFix from one of these locations:

    Link 1
    Link 2

    * IMPORTANT !!! Place ComboFix.exe on your Desktop
  • Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with ComboFix.

You can get help on disabling your protection programs here
  • Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.
  • Your desktop may go blank. This is normal. It will return when ComboFix is done. ComboFix may reboot your machine. This is normal.
  • When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply

    Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall.

    ———————————————————————————————
  • Ensure your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications are re-enabled.
