I posted a while ago about having hard lock-ups while playing steam games, and we were unable to figure out the problem. One of the problems was that there were never any stop codes. Well lately I've been getting crashes while gaming again, some on non-steam games, except now they're sometimes producing BSODs and the associated dump files and stop codes.

So, possibly a hardware issue. Anyone have any suggestions to tracking down the fault? I really don't know what to do to beyond what I've tried already in the above linked post. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi toyotomi,

This is likely to be caused by a hardware problem. This problem might be caused by a thermal issue.
The crash took place in a standard Microsoft module. Your system configuration may be incorrect. Possibly this problem is caused by another driver on your system which cannot be identified at this time.

If I remember correctly you have a newish home built computer, a high end one with excellent cooling too.
I can't think of anything we haven't covered already in your last thread. You may be experiencing a possible video driver corruption, or it's just a problem with steam games (not uncommon it seems) and your new hardware.

You could try uninstalling your graphics driver and installing a different version. If you have the latest one, maybe there is an earlier driver that works better with steam games? Have you tried presenting your problem in the Steam Forum which might be of some help?.

Your not overclocking anything are you?

Cheers,
Lee
