Cpu Usage When Idle

I recently reformatted with XP because my computer was running slowly. This were alright for awile. While getting windows and norton updates, w32.spybot.worm attacked. I have since gotten rid of that but am afraid there is some other junk still around. I had disabled all startup items except norton, intellipoint and intellitype. I think that was all that was starting. When idle, the cpu usage in task manager is ranging between 15 and 35 percent. I reenabled all items in the startup by running msconfig and here is the hijackthis log:

It does not look like you downloaded the Service Packs for either XP or explorer. Please follow the links below to update.

Then please do an online virus scan.

Ok, I think I got all the updates and ran the Panda ActiveScan. It found the W32/Gaobot.AAJ.worm virus and disinfected my computer.

If you dont have these three programs Spyblaster, Spyguard and IESPY AD. These 3 programs will add 1000's of sites to your resticted zone and block some hijacks from happening. In my signature below is also a tutorial on how to harden IE, a good read and very helpful to stop these things in the future. I also have a FREE FIREWALL and FREE ANTI VIRUS if you need one.

It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system.

Keep your system up to date and run Adaware & Spybot, once a week works, and hopefully you will be ok from here on.
