Suggestion for moderators regarding postings

1 min read

This thread's last reply is from . Advice, software, and links below may be out of date — treat specific steps and download links with caution.

I posted in the Virus, Spyware & Malware Removal forum hoping to get help from the experts on a possible infection, however I accidentally clicked Post New Topic before inserting my hijackthis log, so i had to post again and now it shows up as two (duplicate) topics—-the incomplete one has been closed but the one with my log is active but no reply.

My suggestion for the future would be that moderators, if they have to time to reply and close an accidental posting, also reply to its duplicate immediately below, if the duplicate post contains the full log and where its obvious that the user did not deliberately post twice.

Thank you.

No problem, the first post was closed and the 2nd, with the HJT log in it, is open. If the moderator had replied to your 2nd post then the folks handling malware would probably ignore it. The malware site is very busy so when they finish working a problem, they look for threads with 0 replies (also why we say not to reply to your own thread once you start it), assuming someone else is already working others. Peace, and Happy Easter.
