I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 which I had to replace the keyboard. While doing so, I broke the keyboard connector latch..These little things are hard to come by.. Does anyone have a used motherboard for parts or the keyboard connector latch? Or would anyone know where I could just get the latch? I have always liked Dell until I bought 3 Dell 1525 (all at the same time) and all 3 of them have problems with the keys sticking our eithe coming off. I will never buy another Dell!! Sorry for venting..I'm pi**ed! :pullhair: Thank you in advance for your time… Karen
Well the latch is in 2 pieces. I don't know whether i can see good enough to glue them back together, but will try. The info above was very helpful. I'm still working on getting it. :)
Hi Donna, With a fair number of brittle parts, its sometimes possible to effect a repair using a hot melt gun adhesive applicator (use with extreme caution on interior areas) For the more delicate internal areas on laptops and for precision work, we often have to use "superglue" to fix parts that are not easy to obtain from our normal suppliers. Needless to say we use a lot of care and get the customer to sign a risk statement/disclaimer before we start the work. However it can make all the difference between a laptop that is "beyond ecconomic repair" using conventional repair methods….and transforming it,at relatively modest cost, into a workable machine.
