Hi, I bought a new Belkin router yesterday and configured it..initially it was working properly & i was able to access router settings and web. Later i messed up with my router settings and nw i cant access my router settings. Read some of the forum..and did a reset by pressing the reset button for 30sec,restarted my pc and router, but still i cant access my router settings. Although the reset change my router name and disabled all the security settings. I also tried to ping 192.168.2.1 (my router IP)..but its shows an undesirable output: C:\Users\ARUN>ping 192.168.1.1 Pinging 192.168.1.1 with 32 bytes of data: Request timed out. Request timed out. Request timed out. Request timed out. The reason why you cant ping it is because you on a different network, Your IP : [removed] Router: 192.168.1.1 This means you machine is not getting an IP via DHCP from the router. Things to try : 1.Try an IPCONFIG\release then IPCONFIG\renew from the command prompt 2. Check the router to make sure that its dhcp server is enabled 3. give yourself a static IP like 192.168.1.5 with gateway 192.168.1.1, try then to ping the router
