My location is northern california in the united states, and let me post in advance thanks for any help so much. I am familiar with these forums I used them twice oh about five years ago and back then I got some real good help. Real nice help that brought my computer back from the point of being garbage. I downloaded all the tools, but last time I used Hijackthis.exe so I post that log.

Problems: Computer runs like a snail. I believe someone other than me must have downloaded adware or home shopper tool bar spam that eats up way too much resources. I hope the hijackthis log is helpful. I know how to use reg edit if like last time there needs to be that sort of fixes. Thanks again.

My name is Blottedisk and I will be helping you with your malware issues. Solving any malware-related problem may or may not solve other issues you have with your machine. Before we start fixing your computer, please ensure to follow these guidelines while we work on your PC:

Malware removal is a sometimes lengthy and tedious process. Please stick with the thread until I’ve given you the “All clear.” Absence of symptoms does not mean your machine is clean!
Please don't attempt to clean your computer with any tools other than the ones I ask you to use during the cleanup process. Do not run any scans or install/uninstall any applications without being directed to do so.
Please subscribe to this topic, if you haven't already. You can subscribe by clicking the Options box to the right of your topic title and selecting Track This Topic.. Please don't start a new topic, but reply on this one.
If you have any questions at all, please stop and ask before proceeding.

Please follow these steps:

Step 1 | Download DDS from any of the links below:

Save it to your desktop.
Please disable any anti-malware program that will block scripts from running before running DDS.
Double-Click on dds and a command window will appear. This is normal.
Shortly after two logs will appear:
- DDS.txt
- Attach.txt
A window will open instructing you save & post the logs.
Save the logs to a convenient place such as your desktop.
Post the contents of the DDS.txt report in your next reply.
Attach the Attach.txt report to your post by scroling down to the Attachments area and then clicking Browse. Browse to where you saved the file, and click Open and then click UPLOAD.

Step 2 | Please download GMER from one of the following locations and save it to your desktop:

Main Mirror - This version will download a randomly named file (Recommended)
Zipped Mirror - This version will download a zip file you will need to extract first. If you use this mirror, please extract the zip file to your desktop.

Disconnect from the Internet and close all running programs.
Temporarily disable any real-time active protection so your security programs will not conflict with gmer's driver.
Double-click on the randomly named GMER file (i.e. n7gmo46c.exe) and allow the gmer.sys driver to load if asked.

Note: If you downloaded the zipped version, extract the file to its own folder such as C:\gmer and then double-click on gmer.exe.

GMER will open to the Rootkit/Malware tab and perform an automatic quick scan when first run. (do not use the computer while the scan is in progress)
If you receive a WARNING!!! about rootkit activity and are asked to fully scan your system…click NO.
Make sure all options are checked except:
IAT/EAT
Drives/Partition other than Systemdrive, which is typically C:\
Show All (This is important, so do not miss it.)

Click the image to enlarge it

Now click the Scan button. If you see a rootkit warning window, click OK.
When the scan is finished, click the Save… button to save the scan results to your Desktop. Save the file as gmer.log.
Click the Copy button and paste the results into your next reply.
Exit GMER and re-enable all active protection when done.

– If you encounter any problems, try running GMER in Safe Mode.

Hi,

You are using peer-to-peer programs, specifically bitTorrent.
These are what we call an optional removal. However, anytime you are running any type of peer-to-peer application, you are more prone to infection by malware, and this is probably how you became infected in the first place. The choice to remove them is entirely up to you, but I would strongly recommend that you do.
If you do not want to, please at least refrain from using any peer-to-peer programs for the remainder of my fix.

I also see you have Viewpoint installed…
Viewpoint Manager is considered as foistware instead of malware since it is installed without users approval but doesn't spy or do anything "bad". This will change from what we know in 2006 read this article: http://www.clickz.com/news/article.php/3561546
I suggest you remove the program now. Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and remove the following program if present:

Viewpoint Media Player

After that, please follow these steps:

Step 1 | Please download OTM by OldTimer.

Save it to your desktop.
Please click OTM and then click >> run.

Return to OTM, right click in the "Paste Instructions for items to be Moved" window (under the yellow bar) and choose Paste.
Click the red Moveit! button.
Copy everything in the Results window (under the green bar) to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy), and paste it in your next reply.
Close OTM

Note: If an item cannot be moved immediately you may be asked to reboot the machine to finish the move process. If you are asked to reboot the machine choose Yes. In this case, after the reboot, open Notepad (Start->All Programs->Accessories->Notepad), click File->Open, in the File Name box enter *.log and press the Enter key, navigate to the C:\_OTM\MovedFiles folder, and open the newest .log file present, and copy/paste the contents of that document back here in your next post.

Step 2 | Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop.

Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
Once the program has loaded, select Perform quick scan, then click Scan.
When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location and post the results.
