Here's what's happened to the computer:

It had the reboot loop, apparently from a virus. Somehow, I was able to get into the safe mode and do a system restore.
After that, I have the following issues:

- the computer says I do not have a printer connected to it.

- no sound

- no start menu

- cannot copy and paste

- cannot download any microsoft updates

- when I try to download and run Malewarebytes, I get a "run-time error '372'" message. It says: Failure to load control 'vbaldrid' from vbalsgrid6.ocx. Your version of vbalsgrid6.ocx may be outdated. Make sure you are using the version of the control that was provided with your application.

I have CCleaner and Super Antispyware. I was able to run exehelper.scr and VIPRE rescue program. I've run hijackthis after all of that and pasted the logfile here (for some reason, I can copy and paste that but nothing else):

I'm lost on what to do. Can anybody help? Thanks!

Reason for edit: Remove HJT log and upload as attachment.
Well, here's what I did. After restarting the computer and waiting to start in the safe mode, I noticed the screen said to press the F10 key to do an HP recovery which would reinstall my system back to the day I first got it without losing any files. Sure enough, it worked. The only things gone were programs I installed recently. Everything is working well, but I've had to update quite a bit of things and put some programs back on. But it did work. Thanks!
