Hello, I'm using mozilla firefox. Each time I open a new link it seems to be loaded twice: once for a very short moment, then the screen gets white and then the second version appears (and seems to be ok). I already got some help in the malware forum, but the basic problem was not solved. Instead, I got the recommendation to open this thread. I was told to link the thread malware topic Thank you for your help, Fred

Hi Fred.

Try running FireFox (Safe Mode), see if the problem still occurs or not. You get to it by Start / Programs / Mozilla FireFox / FireFox (Safe Mode).

If that doesn't make any difference, try uninstalling, rebooting then reinstalling FireFox.

I stumbled over the solution: I happend to open the firefox menu "Extras/Fehlerkonsole" (sounds like Options/Errorlogs). There I found the message: uncaught exception: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80004003 (NS_ERROR_INVALID_POINTER) [nsIDOMXULElement.insertBefore]" nsresult: "0x80004003 (NS_ERROR_INVALID_POINTER)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://ietab2/content/ietabOverlay.js :: anonymous :: line 607" data: no] I googled this message and found the result: An addon "Firefox accelerator 2.5.10.1" was active and caused the problem. After deactivating this addon my firefox works fine!
