hi I noticed today that avast antivirus home version that was free for one year, expired today….It has completed its one year of period … What i am supposed to do to continue it…I dont wanna pay Thanks
you just go back to the site and renew it. I think it uses the same verification code from when you first activated the account. I've had Avast for about 3 years now and never had a problem renewing it.
Assuming you have the new version, the one with the orange logo, simply launch it, click on Maintenance on the left, then Registration, something like that anyway, click the link to register it, enter you're details, and submit it, and it will automatically activate the key, you have to do this every year, it's always been like that, the only difference now is they don't send you an email with an activation code now, they just do it automatically, it may be possible to do it via the site, but TBH this new method is so much easier you wouldn't want to try any other way, hope this helps.

avast! Free antivirus can be downloaded and used completely free of charge, however, you will need to register your use of the program within 30 days if you wish to continue to use it after that time. This will ensure that you continue to receive virus definitions updates and therefore remain protected against the very latest threats.

The easiest way to register is to just open the Maintenance tab on the left side of the screen and then click on Registration. Here you will see your current registration status e.g. "not yet registered". To register click on Register Now.

A new window will open where you will need to enter a few basic details, then just click on "Register for free license" and your registration will be completed.

If you are using avast! on a computer that is not currently connected to the Internet, you can register on another computer by completing our online registration form. From the registration screen, simply click on "Registration form". After entering your registration details, an email containing your license key will be sent to the email address that you entered. When you receive the email, follow the instructions to copy the license key, then open the avast! registration screen and click on "Insert the license key". In the new window that opens make sure the full license key is entered and that it exactly matches the license key that was sent in the email.

You can now continue to use the program, and will continue to receive updates for a further 12 months to ensure you remain protected against the latest threats.

You will need to re-register each 12 months, but before then, you will see a message on the main summary screen informing you that your registration is due to expire. All you need to do is re-register and your protection will be renewed for another 12 months.
