AVG "ReStart Now vs Postpone" window won't stop

I have AVG 9.0.839 and get the message "Restart Now" or "Postpone" that come up once every hour. Can you tell me how to stop this?

that sounds to me like an update has been downloaded ready to be installed and needs a restart before it is fully installed and working correctly, so to be honest easiest way to stop it, is to restart your pc and it should go away.

I had been restarting the PC over and over. I just decided to delete AVG altogether and re-enter. Looks like that worked. Thanks so much for responding to this little issue. I'm just amazed at how willing you all are to help us with our computer problems. Thanks again.

was probably a corrupted download or something that wouldn't install fully on a restart and that's why you kept getting the message.

must admit i haven't used avg for years, last free anti-virus i installed was avast but think now the most recommended is microsofts security essentials :- http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/default.aspx
