HELP Persario F500

i do hope someone will be able to help me my Partner has brought a Laoptop today second hand its Persario F500 he has seen it working but now we have it home we can not get the screen to come on. We have tried F11 the screen worked for about 10 mins and now all we have left is a flashing cursur in the top left hand of the screen. I really need some help as he has left it with me and i know i will get the blame but it really just all happened on its own WHAT DO I DO NOW ?????
