Hi, You are very wise to be wary…
Unfortunately there are many "rogue" so called scanners and tools on the Internet that will be after actually infecting your machine……( so they can sell you a "cleaner") oftentimes these "rogue" products are given the same or similar names and colour schemes etc as the real ones…. this makes it pretty tricky for anyone (other than an expert) to easily tell the difference.
Fortunately there are many trained experts here who will guide you safely on what needs to be done.

Read the instructions, post the required logs (not here but in the virus and malware removal forum) and you will be in good hands.
