I am running windows Xp on an asus P5QE motherboard. I am not overclocking but rather running in a max power saving mode. I keep getting a CPU OVER TEMPERATURE error and computer shuts down. What can be the problem? TIM? ??
Hi, yes could be TIM, or a fan or fans running underspeed (or not at all) or clogged heatsink..when you you last clean it? It could also be a false alarm..if you have checked everything then you could try disabling the sensor in the BIOS….. but make sure your machine is not overheating first… run temp software to determine exact temps. If you disable the thermal sensor/alarm in the BIOS and it is overheating you risk doing serious damge..so check carefully first! regards paws
