windows xp access

I inherited an xp laptop used in an automotive shop. the owner of the laptop recently passed. the computer can be accessed as a non-admin user but a usb port is blocked. This laptop contains a $2800 software package which we need to access. If we redo the os we will lose it. Is there any way to rest or nullify this admin password. Don't have an extra $2800 to buy the package. Can anyone help PLEASE?
