I want to wipe my computer of everything. Programs, spyware, junk and other things. But i dont have any windows xp CD's or boot or partion CD's. Is there a way I could delete everything without deleting windows. Since reformating will delete windows. So in other words si there a way to delete all or reformat without having to delete windows? Or is there w way i could save my current OS on a disk and insert it after the reformation?
When application programs are installed, the windows operating system may make some small changes (and create new files within itself) to acknowledge and accommodate the integration of the application program on your machine. When spyware is installed, it specifically sets out to incorporate itself into the structure of the windows operating system. Therefore, the task that you seem to be proposing is not at all straight-forward. As to "junk" files, while it is possible to delete temporary internet files and other files that are specifically placed in "temp" and other "log" type folders, there are still many files which are used just once, and therefore some users may consider them "junk" even thought they are saved and listed right in the middle of folders that also contain essential and frequently used system and application files. Even using the windows native function of Control Panel - Add/Remove to uninstall various application programs, often leaves "remnants" of the previously installed program. Even deleting tunes and videos and some other documents, may remove the file, but still not remove all the "evidence" (various files, links, and .dat listings) that the media file for instance was once run in the windows or third-party application. Windows XP does a better job, when uninstalling applications, than did earlier windows versions, and Vista/Win7 reportedly do even better, but still there is a gradual accumulation of "stuff" that was once used by the application or by windows operating system to accommodate the application and then never or rarely used again. It used to be that a periodic format and re-installation, of for instance Win98, was a good idea to improve performance at intervals of maybe once a year or so. XP is less susceptible to that need, but still can be useful at longer intervals. With today's larger hard drives, the existence of "junk" and temporary files has become less of an urgent issue regarding long term memory space, but still exists as an issue. _________________ Even sophisticated spyware removal utilities, are likely to remove specifically the active/dangerous components of the malware, yet may allow "benign" portions (junk) to remain. _______________________- Did you know that even though you do not have a Windows installation CD, you may be able to borrow a Windows installation CD for use with your own Product ID Key code, "if" the installation CD is "exactly" the same as your machine's original Windows installation. For instance XP Home, XP Pro. But it must be "exactly" the same. In instances where the manufacturer (for instance Dell, HP, Lenovo, Acer, etc) pre-installed the windows operating system, it is not possible to use a Microsoft oem or retail CD, and you must use the exact CD from the manufacturer. In most cases, a manufacturer will make an operating system CD available at a small fee (usually around $30) when they "pre-installed" the OS, and now the owner/user needs to format and reinstall. And of course, reinstalling the windows operating system will still require you to install all the chipset anddevice drivers, the windows security updates and service packs. Tell us a little more about what you are hoping to accomplish so that we can have a better idea about how to assist you. Best Regards
hiii, yaa it is possible, firstly try to delete data by shift+delete or from recycle bin. If still data is not deleted then, The simplest way to do this is to format all the drives but that too may delete all the data even ur windows and u dnt want to loose it. I can suggest you 1 tool that will remove all ur data permanently forever and no other tool can also be able to recover it. Advanced System Optimizer has a tool named Secure Delete that does the permanent deletion of the data but once the data removed can not be recovered anyhow It has System Protector that scan and clean the infections if found. It also have Registry Cleaner and then Registry optimizer to tune registeries. there are various other utilities also that may help u. Try this … u can download this from cnet
