Hello all, I'm on my girlfriends laptop trying to figure out this issue I had some what recently put windows 7 on here, and everything worked just fine. Today, out of the blue, without warning, without new installations, or any hardware changes the wireless goes out. I try to click connect to network and there are NO networks listed and we live in an apartment, so it's not an SSID issue, because typically there's around 20 to choose from. Plugging it in to the router I can gain internet access. If I do ipconfig /all, this is what I get Windows IP Configuration Host Name . . . . . . . . . . . . : AR-PC Primary Dns Suffix . . . . . . . : Node Type . . . . . . . . . . . . : Hybrid IP Routing Enabled. . . . . . . . : No WINS Proxy Enabled. . . . . . . . : No DNS Suffix Search List. . . . . . : hsd1.co.comcast.net. Turn the wireless adapter ON. Laptops have a special function key or switch to enable or disable to wireless. You did not specify your make and model.
Not even gonna lie, when I first read your reply, I was like, seriously? My laptop has a physical switch and I've switched it off and on before, so that was the first thing I checked for was a switch. I didn't find one on hers, but you also listed the function option which I had never seen before so, obviously didn't think of it. Sure enough, fn f2 disables and enables wireless. Thanks so much for the reply that seemed so simple. Thank you ;)
