While running combofix, I got this error message on a blue screen. Any ideas what is going on? A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. BAD_POOL_CALLER If this is the first time you've seen this Stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps: Check to make sure that any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any Windows updates you might need. If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then select Safe Mode. Technical information; *** STOP; 0x000000c2 (0x00000007,0x000000CD4,0x00030003,0x86037140) My second attempt at running combofix after a reboot led to this message Check to make sure that any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any Windows updates you might need. Run the driver verifier against any new (or suspect) drivers. If that doesn't reveal the corrupting driver, try enabling special pool. Both of these feature are intended to catch the corruption at an earlier point where the offending driver can be identified. If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then select Safe Mode. Hello DVDsforme,

And welcome to WTT Forums.

The error messages that you are receiving may relate to hardware conflict, corrupted device driver, failing RAM, or failing Hard Drive(bad physical sectors)

But first…. I've got to ask:

What was the problem that originally prompted you to run ComboFix?
Have you received training in use of this advanced tool, or are you presently receiving supervision in its use?

Problems of malware infection "can" mimic hardware conflict, "can" corrupt a device driver, or might cause incorrect allocation of memory addressing.

If you have had, or suspect having a malware infection, let's get that fixed first.
Head on over to Infections Removal Forum

Hey Doug, How are you doing ? I am helping dvdsforme at SaferNetworking in the malware forum, he was infected with ErrorSmart and some other rogues. Malwarebytes ran just fine and removed a lot of junk but there was still things needed to be removed and he ran Combofix under my direction. With that bad pooler error I thought it best he also post here and see whats up with that, possible bad memory I think ??
Thanks for the heads-up Ken. The following are the areas of investigation needed before diagnosis. RAM errors (any one error is too many) Driver Conflict(s) Failing HD If running Windows Memory Diagnostic, HD-Tune (or the manufacturer's utility), having a look into Event Viewer, and possibly doing a bit of crash-dump analyzing, would not interfere with your work in the Thread at SaferNetworking, then we can take some steps here in this Thread. I will appreciate receiving an OK from you prior to commencing any work here. Best Regards
Hi again DVDSforme,

Sorry about the delay in reply.
I've actually been reading a ton of resources related to the possible cause and solution to your problem.

But, it appears that you are no longer receiving the BSOD error alert, now that Ken has successfully helped you.

Thanks Ken! You've been a wonderful help.

I haven't received the blue error pages again. Could it have been a function of the garbage that was on my computer in the first place?

If that is the case, then the ole' proverb: "If it ain't broke, don't be fixin' on it." comes into play.

On the other hand, once you resume normal or heavy usage, problems may crop up again.

The early indicators do include possible RAM memory failure as Ken has suggested.
–Ram Memory errors
–Driver Corruption or Driver conflicts
–Hard Disk errors caused by bad-sectors

This Thread will remain open for you to come back if further inquiry becomes necessary.

Best Regards
