I chose this forum because the stuff on here tells me that I should have started here in the first place. Unfortunately, I may have gone from bad to worse by "fixing" things myself. I don't know chit about computers - I don't know what the heck I was thinking.
I've used FF for years. No problems. Lately (I thought it was connected with the latest upgrage) it started getting very laggy and some pages had script errors. It seemed connected to having video content on the page. It kept getting worse and worse. It's definitely not my internet connection because the laptop (which I'm using right now) is still flying. I uninstalled and reinstalled FF three times. Did the safe mode start to make sure it wasn't add ons. Did a complete uninstall removing all add-ons. Made sure plug ins were updated or that there weren't missing plug ins. Still bad. Maybe even worse. Got frustrated and made my biggest mistake. Used Chrome. Seemed buggy, too. Started browsing with IE.
Well. Within 15 minutes of using IE I had a redirect to one of those fake "Your Computer Is Infected!" sites. Couldn't get out of it without shutting down IE. Managed, somehow, to download MalwareBytes which found some problems. Tried FF again. Tons of redirects - including to another "Your Computer Is Infected!" site that again locked up the browser.
FF, Chrome - almost worthless. Afraid to touch IE again. Opera seems to run just enough that I can at least email myself the hijack this logs so that I can post them from the laptop. But it crashes, too.
Oh, yeah, and before I came here and read that I shouldn't do so - I used the "AnalyzeThis" button and, well, deleted a bunch of stuff. It's still there to reinstall, but, yeah. I made it even harder.
Oh, and I downloaded Avast and did a scan and that found some problems that MalwareBytes missed - some Trojan files in my temp folder. Those are deleted. But the browsers on that computer are still barely functioning.
I hope I didn't leave anything out.

Thank you so much. I will be so grateful for any help. I know I probably made things more complicated than they needed to be.
EDITED TO ADD:
Here is the latest with the 2.04 version (you wouldn't believe how long it took me to do this between freezes, crashes and redirects):

Also, I went to bed with the computer on woke up with the "shield" on Avast disabled (I don't remember leaving it that way) and disconnected from the internet. Weird.
