I am missing a file from an apple based software called Airport Extreme for my network. Despite a deinstall and reinstall the follow error continues and I am unable to access my router.

APAgent.exe. Unable to Locate Component.

This application has failed to start because dnssd.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

I am lost and the apple web site has not helped. Thx

After clicking OK on the error the followin message appears:

AppleSyncNotifier.exe Unable to locate component
This application has failed because the CoreFoundation.dll was not found.

Hello Seajayy2k.

Windows XP has all the support you need for a wireless network adapter. You DO NOT require anything from Apple to connect to ANY wireless or wired router.

As long as the wireless adapter is working, you should uninstall the apple software completely.

You should then make sure you are allowing windows to manage your wireless networks.

These manufacturers would like you to think you need their software to run their wireless adapters and routers.

Hi to all,

Try to follow these steps:

CoreFoundation.dll
This is because you are missing a file.
Step 1. You can download Corefoundation.dll here.
Step 2. Paste this file into your system32 and system folder. Also put it in your syswow
Step 3. Navigate to your System32(32Bit OS) or SyWOW64(64Bit OS) Folder.
Note: The location of System32 or SyWOW64 is
C:Windows\System32 (If you are using 32Bit Windows)
C:\Windows\SysWOW64 (if you are using 64Bit Windows)
Step 4.Paste the CoreFoundation.dll into this folder.
Step 5.Run the game. It might work now.

MellisaNBarkley,

You may not have noticed that this is a very old Thread.

Thanks for your contribution anyway. :)

*** Note to WTT readers: While the download link provided by MellisaNBarkley is from a site that has been around for a while, downloading .dll files can be risky.
It is safer and recommended to copy/paste .dll files from your own original media when available.
If you eventually do decide to download a .dll file, there are several sites available from a quick google search.
I have used http://www.dll-files.com/ successfully in the past, but probably not since the days of Win98SE. :D

However, I still recommend against it.

MellisaNBarkley, your contribution is appreciated and no negative is implied toward you for offering a solution that readers are free to select to use.

Best Regards
