Im connected to the Fire Fox, but my IE dont WOrk for some reason and my Msn messager doesnt work ? i want my MSN MESSANGER TO WORK!! and my net keeps connecting and disconnecting
well i have disconnectd the net and reconnected it it comes and goes so i dont know why that is , i think its the Service provider hmmmm and i disconnected the wireless and stuck it back in again
How about the usual suspects…. Reboot. Check Network Connection via Control Panel - Network Connection. Try "Repair this connection" Report back if a problem is identified.
This could be a Firewall issue. What Firewall do you use? Check to see that IE has permission to make contact to Trusted Zone and to Internet, same with MSN Messenger.
First, are you using a third-party Firewall, such as Zone Alarm, or Comodo? If not, and you are using the Windows native Firewall, what Operating system are you running, and what service pack… for instance XP SP3 or Vista SP1
Hi Kaos123,

This seemingly straight-forward problem quickly gets mired down in detail and the obscure.
But since many folks seem to be having similar problems, there may be some hope.

First, let's clear out any corrupted files in the DNS (the service that translated instructions for internet access)

Go to your Services
(click Start, click Run, type Services.msc in the Open box, and then click on OK/enter)

Scroll down to DNS Client
If DNS Client is “running”, then you are done, no changes needed.
If not:
Double-Click on DNS Client, then select to change the status to Start. (Its OK to leave it as Manual, if that is the current setting, but you will have to repeat this procedure in the future if you elect to flush your dns cache again)

Now you can run your - ipconfig /flushdns

Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt. (if running Vista – right-click and select Run as Administrator

Type: ipconfig /flushDNS - press - Enter

I highly recommend that you also clear your ipconfig and renew your ipconfig at this same time

start - Run - (type)ipconfig /releaseall
start - Run - (type)ipconfig /renew

In addition to what you refer to above:

Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt.

Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults: netsh winsock reset catalog

Reset TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ip reset reset.log

Reboot the machine.

Now let's clear out any temporary internet files and cookies
Download ATF-Cleaner (download here: http://www.atribune.org/index.php?option=c…5&Itemid=25 )
And run it selecting the browsers that you presently use (IE, Firefox)

Now comes the obscure and detailed part…
In your Firefox browser, navigate over to: http://messenger-support.spaces.live.com/

Read carefully and compare the details described against your own machine.
If you have any of the offending details mention, consider taking the actions recommended at that site.

Post back with any questions or comments.

Best Regards
