All:

My wife is having trouble with"her" PC again–it's a Dell Dimension XPS T500 running Win XP. She says her system hard drive is almost full, and she's not doing anything to cause that. I wanted to get right to seeing what the problem was, but she decided she had to try to move some files to an external HDD tied to the machine via USB to see if that helped. It didn't. The system drive now shows less free space than it did before.

I did install a new version of Zone Alarm Free about 2 weeks ago, and started getting "New Network Found" messages for a network to IP address XXX(my router address is XXX). I don't know if she's still getting those messages. I never got them with the previous version of ZA. I put a message up on the software forum over a week ago, but haven't heard anything back.

I don't know if the two problems are related, and don't know if I will now have to clean up the external HDD as part of this whole thing, should there be a real malware/virus problem here.

A HJT log is attached.

Sigh…..
