I was wondering if anyone knows about this product, i purchased a Maxtor External hardrive Mini One touch 320gb in 2008, used it a couple times to recover my system on my laptop due to bringing it in to the shop for issues, today i decided to do a copy with safety drill , it wouldnt let me, initializing takes a long time, it stays at 0% and keeps comming back with the message "image copied with errors" and when i view log its blank…can anyone tell me how i can fix this to be able to do a safety drill for my system?
thank you
snow
I suggest checking the drive for errors, I don't know that unit you have, but I have had numerous issues with Maxtor drives, get the utility from Maxtor and run the scan on that drive, lets see what that says then we can look at what the next step is.
Should the Safety Drill Recovery Software of been corrupted you can get it for Here, and incase it helps you can view some tutorials Here on how to do things..
Hello and thank you for looking into this…
here are some logs…
only thing is i aborted the long generic scan since it said if FAILED it would wipe out the drive..

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.
For example:
When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

I can understand why you don't want to risk running the long test, but thats the one that will show the most accurate disk info as to if it's getting any bad sectors etc, but SeaTools isn't the easiest thing to use compared to the Maxtor software they used before being bought out, so incase it helps highlight something you may have missed Here is they're page on it, and how to use it.
I also noticed there is some bundled software already on the drive, I've never seen this so can't be sure if it's of any use, but incase your's had become corrupt you can get it Here incase that helps.
Now the one you have tried also has a dos version available, I'm wondering if that may be a more successful scan, what you could try if you wished is get the UBCD (it's a big download) and burn it to disk, then you can boot to that disk and run the scans available on that, there is pretty much every scan you can think of by all the makers on the one disk, so it's a useful tool for future tests of various types, but the hope is you will manage a full scan without any risk.
A 3rd party scan that may also be better for you is HDDScan, maybe that will be better, hopefully something here will help to draw a conclusion from.
Good morning…
we have read up on that link and the hardrive does come with the software installed already… since it seems the hard drive is working fine, looks like it might be software issues from what information we could get on this product, we are going to uninstall the software and purchase another…
once again thank you for your help! its always greately appreciated
