[Resolved] Antivirus Live infection now cant log onto internet

Time for some housekeeping

• Click START then RUN
• Now type ComboFix /Uninstall in the runbox and click OK.
• Note the space between the X and the U, it needs to be there.

The above procedure will:

• Implement some cleanup procedures.
• Reset System Restore.

Please re-enable any security that was disabled.

Now to remove most of the tools that we have used in fixing your machine:

• Make sure you have an Internet Connection.
• Download OTC to your desktop and run it
• A list of tool components used in the cleanup of malware will be downloaded.
• If your Firewall or Real Time protection attempts to block OTC to reach the Internet, please allow the application to do so.
• Click Yes to begin the cleanup process and remove these components, including this application.
• You will be asked to reboot the machine to finish the cleanup process. If you are asked to reboot the machine choose Yes.

The following is my standard advice for the future. Use what you can and pat yourself on the back for what you're already doing.

Ok, so i'm a dork, Have been waiting for your reply for 2 days, I guess I should have checked page 2 Anyways, got combo fix uninstalled but the OTC thing keeps getting blocked by : "Gateway antivirus alert This request is blocked by the SonicWALL Gateway Anti-Virus Service. Name: Emold.U (Worm) " Any heads up as to how to proceed. Sorry to have dragged this out two extra days. Oh and the Ruger101, yes I'm an avid Ruger(the gun manufacturer) fan, and that is also my 115pound chocolate labs name. And the 101, I guess I could give anyone there first course in understanding guns haha. (no i'm not the violent type). Oh, and I've read on some of the links youve posted, and will continue to read more, thanks for all the help, and good information. Jeff

Ruger101, I'm not conversant with SonicWALL Gateway Anti-Virus Service. Can you shut it off long enough to run OTC? I'm also a Ruger fan. The Mark series of pistols are probably the nicest .22 semi's ever made and the M77 rifles are 2nd only to the pre 64 Winchesters for big game hunting. They make some nice DAO's also but I prefer the Kahr's and Kimbers for carry weapons (except for women and then a J frame S&W probably gets the nod) and you just can't beat a Colt Python when it comes to revolvers. By the way, I'm not the violent type either. Might qualify for a gun nut though.

OK, I got nothin'. I've turned off my firewall and my anti virus, but it keeps blocking. I logged into my netgear router and looked to see if they were using some kind of firewall, didn't see anything. Any other Ideas, can we manually remove these? I'm glad to see you are a Ruger enthusiest, my first is my coveted 10/22 that my parents got me at 16, which had to be modified with a folding stock and 30rd clip. Then I purchased my first large ruger rifle at 24 with a M77 markII .223, Then a stainless GP100 .357 caught my eye at about 27 or 28. And last year I finally at 33(Obama made me do it) dropped the cash on the stainless .22 match target pistol the one with the thumb rest, and insane accuracy Looking back the I knew the gun control scare was overrated, but I got the new toy ; ) Jeff

Got it finally, took about 10 tries tonight but it finally downloaded. Ran it, rebooted, and all seems well!! Thanks again, and let me know if their is anything else to do. Jeff
