Long story short, I am (sadly) using a motorola 3347 router, which is connected directly to my computer. Whenever I try to use the Define Custom Service to port forward ports for borderlands, the connection stops, and I temporarily lose my internet connection for about 5-20 seconds. Why does it keep doing this?

Did you read the info about "Pinholes" in the Users Guide? From what I can gather, that's how you do port forwarding for games with this router.

Users Guide is here: Motorola 3347-02-10NA

Thats not the correct model (or the problem). The router seems to just disconnect me whenever I try to use the port forward function.
