On our home pc and laptop, we were having problems with not being able to load websites, especially gmail. Then many websites just jumped off the intended site, telling us that the website couldn't be found, even though we were just on the website, we were just navigating through it. Even if we were on Bing search engine, it would bounce to the google search engine and say the site couldn't be found. Maybe that's because we have google as main brower? I loaded malwarebytes anti-malware (which took a few tries because it really didn't like us going to that website or searching that keyword) and it removed some annoying adware, but it was still doing it. I then tried to download HIJackThis, and it misdirected me. Attached is the log. I tried to startup the computer on Safe Mode, but the screen freezes when it loads the software, then never gets to Safe Mode. As of right now, the browser is slow, but running better. Anyone who can maybe see something strange loaded on the PC… that would be helpful. I'm not a computer person so dummy-proof directions are appreciated. Thanks so much for the help.

Click the image to enlarge it
  • In the right panel, you will see several boxes that have been checked. Uncheck the following …
    • Sections
    • IAT/EAT
    • Drives/Partition other than Systemdrive (typically C:\)
    • Show All (don't miss this one)
  • Then click the Scan button & wait for it to finish.
  • Once done click on the [Save..] button, and in the File name area, type in "Gmer.txt" or it will save as a .log file which cannot be uploaded to your post.
  • Save it where you can easily find it, such as your desktop, and post it in your next reply.

**Caution**
Rootkit scans often produce false positives. Do NOT take any action on any "<— ROOKIT" entries
