pc keeps restarting

Hi everyone , i hope you can help me out ! sorry to be a pain , the problem is my kids pc only had 256mb ram whick meant they couldent play there world of warcraft or any games on it , so i bought a new 1gb ram today and installed it but now every now and again the pc just restars itsself? any ideas what is wrong, thanks in advance .i just done an everest scan, here is ome of it , i diddnt no what i was doing sorry !! Greetings. Can you verify that you are only using the one 1GB stick? If so move it to the first slot nearest the CPU and see if that helps.

Hey there …i read your post ……there might be problem in the wires…..it might be that there is a loose connection of your wires……i also had the same problem that my computer kept on restarting…….first thought that might be a problem of loose connection……but then came to know that actually my RAM had loose connection……..just try removing your RAM and fixing it again…….

Just to expand on my earlier post: From your log it shows only the 1GB in the second slot. All other slots show empty. I would move the 1GB to the first slot and remove the 256 completely.

hi guys any thanks for all your help , is what i done , for a start my 256mb card was not pluged in properly so i took that one out and put the 1 gig in its place " in the first slot" then pluged the 256 mb card in second slot properly , now all seems to be working well , do u still sudjest i remove the 256mb card or just leave for now? anyways cheers for all ur help , this site is the best , cheers all.

If the 256 is the same speed as the 1GB then leave it. However if the 256 is slower it will also slow down the 1GB and then would not be worth the 256 it adds as it will slow down the whole setup.
