about a month back I updated my video card driver I have a nvidia Geforce 6200 Turbo Cache
the day after this my computer started crashing when doing anything complex such as downloading files and then loading a game ,moving files or anything like taht . the computer turns off and restarts with an error message [external image: Posted Image]
I have looked at my hardware using progrmames Start/Control panel/Performance and Maintenance/system/Hardware/Device Manager
and all was good no problems I have a bad ram a 512 mbs 200mhz single stick
I have used programmes like hijack this and my report of it is in the section for hijack this reports i follwed the kind advice given to me there but it made no difference my computer crashes usually in between maps when playing games such as cod 2 and wont even load up 'better' games like hl2 it crashes immedialty .my computer has also been slower recently but not because of a virus that can be found by mulltiple updated virus searches and by running ctrl alt delete its all good I have uninstalled my video card drivers that I downloaded.
i have boughtt a webcam since thevc drivers it needed no cd to run i have also dled kazza gfold on my pc since then
any help would be greatly appreiciated
thank you

Hi RoXxOrS,
Upgrading the Video Card sometimes pushes the power demands of the overall machine beyond the capacity of the Power Supply Unit. Need to replace an ailing PSU? Need to upgrade to a larger PSU?
Such crashes can also be caused by heat.
Since you had your case open to install the Video Card, you may already have taken the opportunity to clean out the dust bunnies, especially from between and around your HeatSinks. But if you didn't/haven't, then please get a can of compressed air and do so now.
Next quick check would be in regard to the operating system files.
Run Windows File Protection System File Checker.
With regard to your Video Card, go to the manufacturer's website and download the Uninstall utility to completely uninstall the Video Card driver. Then reinstall the Video Driver version from the Manufacturer's website.
With regard to the Error Message, please post the specific Error Message as that will help in trouble-shooting. Your screenshot is real nice, but only notes the offending files that reside in temp folders.
In the meantime, use a utility like Ccleaner, CleanUp! 4.51 or ATF Cleaner to get rid of all the junk files and or temporary and temporary internet files. If you use FireFox, also delete the temps from that.
How long has it been since you Defragged your Hard Drive?
Be sure to Defrag, both before and after installing new hardware and software.
How much "free space" do you have on that Hard Drive?
Keep us posted with your progress.
Best Regards
You may benefit from a broader-based computer functionality overview to see what else may be influencing the problem that you have identified as being related narrowly to your Video Card/drivers and your RAM.
Run the Full Tests at www.pcpitstop.com (free and safe)
Post the "TechExpress Link" back into this thread, to allow us to have a look at the Results.
We may then be better able to provide more informed recommendations.
Best Regards
Following the recommendations from the Pit Test will help, as you've likely concluded.
Especially:
Drive C:\ Drive D:\
Junk files 783 MB ——- - (1%) —————– - 0 MB (0%)
Data fragmentation —– - 67% —————– - Not tested
File fragmentation ——- - 10% —————- - Not tested
Uncached speed ——— - 34 MB/s (79%) — - 47 MB/s (110%)
Run a temp/temporary Internet file cleanup tool like CleanUp! 4.51 or Ccleaner, or ATF Cleaner
Defrag, and run the Defrag (3) three times in a row, without rebooting
sequence as follows:
Run Scan Disk (once)
Run Disk Defragmenter C:\
Run Disk Defragmenter C:\
Run Disk Defragmenter C:\
Activate Hard Drive DMA (Direct Media Access)
or Ultra DMA if available

Please notice that your have 11% CPU Load at Resting Status from Boot……… Yikes
If that won't slow a machine down, I don't know what would.
Turn-Off (disable) all of the following via MSCONFIG
(You will still be able to run any/all of these items from their Icon manually as needed)

Consider Uninstalling Wanadoo Search Toolbar via Control Panel - Add/Remove
_______________________________________________________________________________
Turn-Off Hybernate and hyberfil.sys – This is a desktop and you do not need this service running.
Hyberfil.sys is a hugely burdensome background indexing that consumes resources unnecessarily…. no matter what application or internet activity you are currently running.

What do you have your Browser Cache Size set to currently? – 2385 MB yikes. That's alot of junk to be dragging around the internet when you are browsing.
Consider a value/Size between 80mb - 100mb
________________________________________________________________________________
What do you have your Internet Connection "Receive Buffer" Size set to currently?
Consider a value/size of 64240
(follow the instructions linked in the Pit Test)

Consider an "alternative browser" like FireFox or Opera which are more secure than IE.

Consider Re-installing Driver for you Video Card.
you are not getting what you should from the Card - Performance 158.82 MP/s (89% of 91 similar)
Perhaps an updated Driver will help.
Be sure to use the manufacterer's tool to Uninstall all components of the present Driver before installing the new.
I realize that Video Driver may have been involved in the beginning of your difficulties, but still think you will gain by exploring your Video Driver options.
