Hi, I'm looking for the best free anti-virus software for my wife's computer. She has plenty of virus removal programs but nothing to stop them from coming in. Any suggestions?
The above is very good, but a recent marketing ploy has made it annoying for some, if you want to have a choice then Avast is a comparable alternate choice, these are the best 2 free A\V's out IMHO, and better than quite a few paid versions as well, only thing to note with Avast, you have 60 days to register it and get your free licence to enter, you need a valid email address because thats where they send it, but you have no worries about any other mails from them, only time they send you anything is when you ask them too.
But your comment about the other protection you already have concerns me, there is a critical rule with protection, and thats the 1 at a time rule, NEVER run more than 1 product at the same time as another in real time, or if running a standalone scanner then disable real time cover of the same type BEFORE you run them, so basically you should only have 1 firewall, 1 anti virus and 1 anti spyware product giving real time protection at the same time, if you tell us all the current protection your using we can tell you what to do and how to use it all safely, because these things can cause problems with similar products.
